ZIP Line

Postby Bellman » Thu May 19, 2011 8:35 am

The outdoor board in Harlan announced that the largest ZIP Line, in Ky and Eastern USA, 10 lines, will hopefully be open at the Evarts trail head by August, they are in a loan process, and hope they can get it built with in kind labor for about $170,000.
They are looking into another way of enforcement on the park as well, and will still look at the County Deputy option they have now.

$170,000...... How in the world would you make your investment back, let alone make a profit? I must not understand construction, I figured zip lines were in the $30,000 range. could maybe make a slight profit there. but $170,000 ?

Have no idea as to what they will be charging per ride, but they say in Pigeon Forge, Tn. They are charging right at $90 per head and they take reservations and are backed up for months at a time, so they (whoever they are) say. Let's say that they charge $50 per head and take 10 at a time would be $500 per group 5 groups a day would be $2500 6 days a week would be $15,000 per week X 4 weeks $60,000 per month in 3 Months on that number you have $180,000 so I would say possible and in 6 months time you have it and your wages covered. And I don't think that is reaching or setting too high of a goal for getting people to do it.
